Grasses

Ornamental Grasses continue to gain in popularity. For 2007 we will continue to offer a wide selection concentrating on dependable hardy varieties. Many of the landscape standards such as Miscanthus sinensis "Strictus" and Calamagrostis acutufolia "Overdam" are in stock as are some newer acquisitions. Our grasses are potted in 1 and 2 gallon containers and are available for personal shopping at the nursery. Priced competitively. Hot for this season are two difficult to find patented new releases.

Calamagrostis acutifolia "Eldorado"
is a new and rare variegated form of the popular c. "Karl Foerster". Narrow arching green leaves have a bright gold centre which radiates out in the sunlight. Attractive feathery plumes in June.

Miscanthus sinensis  'Gold Bar'
is a true show-stopper with its dense and dramatic gold striping from the base of the grass to its top. It is exceptionally upright and compact in habit. At the end of October burgundy inflorescences appear just above the blades.

Another must have perennial for 2007 happens to be gold also.

Dicentra spectabalis "Gold Heart"
is a Bleeding Heart with bright gold foliage, long arching stems and rose pink flowers!
